Support4Sport VIP Coaching Program

What is a VIP coach?

The Support4Sport VIP coaching program was created to recognize the contribution of coaches across Nova Scotia. VIP is not a certification, but a proactive opportunity for coaches to excel in ethical leadership and lifelong learning.

VIP participants are supported and part of a broader community leading the way and promoting positive sport environments in the provincial and community sport sectors.

Black and Indigenous Coach Mentorship Program

The Black and Indigenous Coaching Mentorship is a two-year project aimed at recruiting and supporting Black and Indigenous coaches in Nova Scotia and providing them with a safe environment to learn and grow. The program includes face-to-face workshops and virtual sessions, one-on-one guidance and support from experienced coaches and National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) training.

Aboriginal Coaching Module

Designed to complement the NCCP certification process, the Aboriginal Coaching Module is a professional development training tool for all coaches who coach Indigenous athletes. The ACM consists of three learning modules that reflect the uniqueness of Indigenous culture, values and lifestyles.

Concussion awareness 

The Province of Nova Scotia in partnership with the Brain Injury Association of Nova Scotia has developed a resource page for athletes, coaches, parents and health professionals to provide information on concussions in sport.
