PLEASE NOTE: Effective April 1, 2026, the Coaching Association of Canada will transition Making Ethical Decisions (MED) to a single, integrated eLearning module delivered exclusively through The Locker.

What’s Changing?

  • MED training and evaluation will now be combined into one online module.
  • Facilitated formats (virtual-synchronous, home study) will no longer be offered for free through Coaching Nova Scotia.
  • The current standalone online evaluation will end on March 31, 2026.
  • All MED access will occur only through The Locker.

These changes aim to increase accessibility, ensure national consistency, and reflect coach preference for flexible online learning.

For Coaches in Nova Scotia, we recognize that this transition and timeline may present challenges in the short term. Here's what you need to know to navigate the change:

1. Coaches Who Have Completed MED Training & Evaluation

No action required.Completion remains on NCCP transcript; certification stays valid.

2. Mid-Stream Coaches (completed MED training or evaluation, not both)

  • Must complete the current online evaluation by March 31, 2026 (11:59:59 PM PT)
  • If not completed by the deadline:
    • Coaches must complete the new full eLearning module (training + evaluation)
    • No additional fee will be charged for this module

3. New Coaches (from April 1, 2026)

  • Must complete MED through the new eLearning module
  • Fee: $85
  • Once purchased, the module remains accessible in The Locker
